What Are Anal Warts?
Anal warts, or condylomata acuminata, are small growths caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) in the anal or genital area. They can appear as single or clustered bumps, often flesh-colored or slightly darker. Anal warts are transmitted through sexual contact and can vary in size and texture, sometimes causing itching, discomfort, or bleeding. While they're typically not cancerous, they can be unsightly and may require treatment to alleviate symptoms and reduce transmission risk.

What Are The Types and Grades Of Piles?
Anal warts can be classified into the following categories based on their characteristics and severity:
External Anal Warts:
- These warts develop on the skin around the anus and are visible externally.
- They may appear as small, raised bumps or clusters with a rough texture.
- Treatment options for external anal warts may include topical medications, cryotherapy (freezing), or surgical removal.
Internal Anal Warts:
- Internal anal warts develop inside the anal canal and are not visible externally.
- They are often found above the dentate line, making them inaccessible without medical examination.
- Internal anal warts can cause discomfort, itching, and bleeding during bowel movements.
Internal Anal Warts Grades:
- Grade 1: Mild internal warts confined to the lining of the anal canal. They may not protrude and typically do not cause symptoms.
- Grade 2: Larger warts that may protrude during bowel movements but retract spontaneously afterward.
- Grade 3: Warts that prolapse during bowel movements but do not retract independently, requiring manual repositioning.
- Grade 4: Severe warts that remain prolapsed and cannot be manually repositioned. They are often large, inflamed, and sensitive, causing significant discomfort and complications.
Treatment for internal anal warts may involve various interventions, including topical medications, surgical excision, laser therapy, or electrocautery, depending on the grade and severity of the warts. Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment are crucial for managing anal warts effectively and preventing complications.
